David is a distinguished trial lawyer with over 25 years of experience in intellectual property and complex commercial litigation cases. He has handled cases for both plaintiffs and defendants in federal courts across the country, with 19 cases tried to verdict in venues including California, Texas, Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, and Kansas. David co-founded Olson Stein LLP to provide excellent client service and strategic, efficient legal and business advice. His patent litigation experience spans technologies in a myriad of diverse industries, including semiconductors, medical devices, agriculture, sporting goods, hospitality, and business methods.
David has been repeatedly recognized by his peers and industry groups as a leading patent litigator and for his dedication to pro bono and community service. He also has taught trial advocacy for years in both law schools and for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). He has received awards for achieving a top ten jury verdict of the year in a whistleblower, wrongful termination case and for outstanding commitment to pro bono causes.
When he is not trying to make the world a better place for litigants, David enjoys spending time with his three daughters (8, 8, and 7). He also is a foodie, and David is an avid fan of sports and wine (not always together, but sometimes…).
