Nancy Olson is a distinguished federal practitioner with over 15 years of experience working in and litigating before federal trial and appeals courts. She cofounded Olson Stein LLP to leverage her federal expertise and local insight to advise clients as they navigate complex matters in federal court. Because Nancy has worked with more judges in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California than any other practicing attorney, first as an elbow law clerk and later as an experienced attorney to the Patent Program, she offers unique insight into effectively and efficiently litigating in this district, especially in IP cases.
Additionally, after serving as a federal prosecutor for six years across multiple districts, where she gained first chair trial experience and argued before the Ninth Circuit more than twenty times, Nancy offers her clients expert guidance on taking matters to trial, preserving issues, and prevailing on appeal. At DOJ, Nancy was recognized for her exceptional legal writing skills, where she was invited to serve on the faculty of the National Advocacy Center’s “Brief Writing for Criminal Litigators” department-wide course, and serve as a writing mentor in DOJ’s nationwide four-part writing workshop. As a District Training Officer, she also trained dozens of new AUSAs on litigating in federal court.
